If having clear skin was super easy, then everybody would have it, am I right? Unfortunately, it's not that easy. Want to know why? We are so used to the habits that cause us to not have clear skin. Lucky for you, you can break that habit. I'm going to share with you a few tips that will help you get and glow skin and how you can keep it.
1. Drink water. I know you may hear this all the time that the key to getting clear skin is to drink plenty of water, and I know you may be tired of hearing it. Staying hydrated will help fight acne. It is also good for helping flush the bad bacteria out of your body. If you don't really like the taste of water, try adding some fruit to your water. Adding fruits in your are good for a body detox as well as making sure that you are increasing your water intake.
2. Build your own skin care regimen. You do have to go through a series of finding out what works and what doesn't works for your skin. Once you find out what works, develop your own skin care regimen.
3. Exfoliate. Exfoliating is another thing to add to your skin care regimen. When you exfoliate, you are getting rid of your dead and dry skin cells. It also helps bump up blood circulation which helps you achieve the goal of having glowing skin. Don't over exfoliate though. If you have dry skin, you should only be exfoliating once a week. If you have oily skin, you should be exfoliating twice a week. If you have to exfoliate twice a week, try exfoliating at the beginning of the week and at the end of the week. That way you can have it spaced out and ensure that you won't damage nor irritate your skin.
4. Moisturize. Dry skin is definitely not what we consider to be pretty so it is imperative that you moisturize, even if you already have oily skin. I know you may be thinking "Why do I have to moisturize if I have oily skin? Doesn't my oily skin make up for moisturizing?" The answer is, no it does not. If you have oily skin and don't moisturize, you can cause acne.
5. Eat less junk food. Don't get me wrong, it is hard to take a down a notch when it comes to eating junk food, however, it can cause some of the acne problems we encounter. I remember going to the store all the time and getting some donuts, a pack of cookies, a nice fruity juice, a bag of chips, and a pack of candy. I would eat all of it that night and the next day wake up with a couple of pimples. This was my routine and that's how I found out that my junk food intake played a major role in my acne problems.
6. Be consistent with your skin care routine. If you're not being consistent with your skin care routine, it'll become hard for you to see your results, so please be consistent with your skin care routine. Remember, dirt does build up if you don't clean your skin, and it does cause acne.
7. Exercise. When you exercise, it increases your blood flow, which is good if you want to get glowing skin.
8. Don't pick with or pop your pimples. If you pick with or pop your pimples, you can create a dark spot sometimes known as scarring.
Extra tip: Don't be too harsh on your skin while you are scrubbing it. This can cause your skin to be irritated and potentially create rashes and scars.
